Patent Support

Drawings, models, and technical documentation to support patent applications.

All work performed on the SolidWorks platform. Turnaround time depends on project scope.

Deliverables

What you receive.

Every engagement closes with a complete documentation package — design files ready to hand to manufacturing, patent ready documentation if required, or build on internally.

  • Each iteration of the model
  • Detailed drawings with your company logo

  • Sourcing options for manufacturing
  • Patent support

Our Process

From concept to prototype, in six measured steps.

  1. 01

    Concept & Scope

Simple or complex assemblies. Application, use conditions, material type, tolerancing, and load conditions are all defined here. It's wise to plan for about three design iterations.

  2. 02

    Quotation Estimate

A rough initial estimate that sharpens as iterations reveal the true scope of work.

  3. 03

    Design Iteration 1

Model design, material and hardware selection, defining the manufacturing method, and costing. Covers fit-up and functionality. Engineering may include Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and assessment of potential failure points — wear, fatigue, corrosion, environmental — plus coatings.

  4. 04

    Design Iteration 2

Model redesign as needed. Changes to material, hardware, and manufacturing process. Revisited costing and engineering reassessment as needed.

  5. 05

    Further Iterations

Additional changes as needed until the design is right.

  6. 06

    Prototype

A 3D-printed plastic part for a visual reference, available any time after the first iteration.

Friction Stir Welded Pipe

Solid-state joining of pipe sections via friction stir welding — design carried from CAD through tooling and live fabrication.

Heavy-Equipment Wear Bracket — Advanced Metal Products

01 — CAD Modeling

Heavy-Equipment Wear Bracket

Advanced Metal Products

Modeled a alloy-steel wear bracket in SolidWorks from a worn-out field sample. Rebuilt geometry parametrically so the client could spin variants for three different machine sizes without restarting the model.

02 — FEA Analysis

Stress Validation & Weight Reduction

Advanced Metal Products

Ran linear static FEA on the bracket under peak field-load conditions. Identified two stress concentrations, reshaped the rib geometry, and dropped part weight while keeping the safety factor above 2.5.

Tolerance-Ready Manufacturing Package

Advanced Metal Products

Produced a fully dimensioned drawing set with GD&T, seal-groove callouts, and revision block ready for the foundry. Drawings cleared first-article inspection without an engineering change order.

Why Choose Us

A cost-effective way to streamline design and manufacturing.

Many design services bundle in-house prototyping, but the cost of maintaining that equipment and skilled labor is high — and it gets passed on to every client.

Design Engineering Services focuses only on design, engineering, analysis, and 3D-printed prototypes. We then recommend manufacturing facilities that do quality work at competitive prices with reasonable delivery.

  • Focused scopeDesign, engineering, analysis, and 3D-printed prototypes — nothing we don't excel at.
  • No overhead markupWe don't run a manufacturing floor, so you don't pay to keep one running.
  • All iterations includedMaterial specs, coatings, and the critical features your application needs.
  • Vetted manufacturingWe recommend shops that do quality work at competitive prices with reasonable delivery.

Who We Help

Built for teams that need design done right — once.

01

No CAD in-house

Companies that don't have CAD software and need design work done by experienced hands.

02

Overloaded engineering teams

Companies with CAD that can't justify hiring more staff and want to stretch their existing engineering budget.

03

Project-specific expertise

Clients who need engineering, design-for-manufacturing, drawing detailing, prototypes, material selection, or costing on a single project.

We work effectively even without the internal "tribal knowledge" your own team possesses — our process is built to surface the constraints, assumptions, and tradeoffs that matter, so the final design fits your application.
